Lost Dog

Mummy says my eyes spoil already. This morning they gave her another shock with both eyes fully covered with yellow mucus.

In fact, I kinda love it when she helps me remove them... I like to eat my eye shit...!

Updates

My eyes have been irritating me alot these days. Mummy says there is alot of yellowish liquid build up around my eye. So sian... I cant open my eye properly even when mummy keeps trying to clean them off. Dunno why but I just had to keep tearing.... Mummy's fault...

Dr Kenneth Tong cut a hole in me days ago to remove my lump. Seriously speaking I totally hate that place. Now I'm getting 2 red patches near my incision cut that's making me so itchy and yet I cannot lick it.
Thank goodness mummy's at home with me today. She finally allowed me to be off my ecollar cos I was trying so hard to get it off myself. But I can't run away from her watchful eyes. She will hollow at me the moment I try to lick any parts.

Avril: Seriously I'm getting abit worried about that 2 patches cos they look like they are swelling. It's been there after his surgery and ointment given to be applied don't seem to help.

Barkday!

Mummy woke up today exceptionally nice to Cai Cai.
She planted a real long kiss on my muzzle and started singing to Cai Cai.
"Happy Barkday to you, Happy Barkday to you, Happy Barkday to Cai Cai, Happy Barkday to you!"
Though I don't understand it, but it excites me whenever mummy claps her hands and sing. Gave her super slurps from my smelly molly mouth.

I am so happy cos mummy gave Cai Cai a red packet and a new big packet of Marukan all to myself. I'm so gonna hide that away from the itchy nose of Daz Daz. Don't quite appreciate the red packet though. I mean, what use can anything be if it isn't edible???

The annoying part is that I was forced to take pictures with Daz Daz before I could keep my gifts.

Checking out my gifts:
Mummy says I'm always camera ready!
I think I can be a 代言人!
Being forced to take pictures with Daz and he is more of a trouble than help. He keeps moving! Never take pictures before issit!
See la... Cannot sit still. Tried to put his big head into the camera. Wanna snatch my shot!
1 out of dunno how many spoiled shots. Waste my time.
Cannot tahan anymore... Mummy can I go?? Cai Cai quietly shifts away.....

Cai Cai Returns

Aiz.. My life's taken a turn recently. My territory has been invaded by an unwelcomed new comer!
So what that he is CUTE according to Auntie, I simply cannot stand my space being shared!

Daz, such a pain in the ass, has been humping and biting at my neck the entire time he is here. Mummy!!! Please rid him leh! Even Jie Jie is complaining.

Auntie is simply too bought over that she just keeps siding him and ignore cai cai most of the time. Hmpf! Cai cai is the cutest k! Now I get divided attention. Even mummy has to attend to Daz's inconsiderate whines in the middle of the night. WOOF! Cai is angry and jealous!

I shall go bark bark at H gor gor for that!

Doggie's saviour needed

http://projectjk.blogspot.com/2007/04/caregiver-needed-for-1-year-salary.html

As we continue in our day-to-day 'operations' in animal welfare, we have only been blessed to build more, if not stronger, relations with the disparate caregivers, fosterers, boarders and strayfeeders all over the island, and learn from our interactions with them, samaritans in their very own right, how important a cohesive network of animal activists, supporters and volunteers, driven by the same motivations, the same passions to achieve the same objectives, is.

To improve the lives of the animals -- street, footloose, industrial, agricultural, domestic or whatever else.

In a context where we lack a macro form of support such as that from national animal welfare organisation or, quite simply, the government, our 'silent' caregivers hinge upon mutual support to make a difference to the lives of, especially, our stray animals; to make sure, in their very best, that our animals are granted some form of decency -- water to drink, food for nourishment, medication for the injured -- in places where most public would not take a second glance at or consider, even for a fraction of a moment, WHO are those who rely on the wilderness, the bushes, the space beneath some random truck to sleep and claim space for their own abode.

Today, we received a call from an existing strayfeeder who'll be away from Singapore for one year, who seeks another (reliable, confident) caregiver who can take his place, for this one year, and one who is confident of this role, committed and consistent in this potential work.

Here are the details:

=============================================

To feed about 12 stray dogs at a spot in Sembawang every morning consistently for one year, from mid-May 2007 to mid-May 2008. Feeding materials include meshed kibbles, canfood and rice, and water which will be rendered in small pails. Feeding materials will be supplied time to time by this existing strayfeeder, or, into the time that he will be absent, by his friend.

Existing strayfeeder will remain contactable. Replacing strayfeeder will be able to contact his friend, in times of emergency.

From now until his departure, he will orientate replacing strayfeeder and guide him/her along with the job. Work estimated to be half to one hour each morning. Strayfeeder expected to clear newspapers or surrounding litter, to ensure responsible feeding.

The 12 dogs are made up of two to three independent packs, mostly adult dogs. Dogs are of the wary sort but with a proper handover/orientation, it will be fine.

All we need now is someone who is able to commit to the time in feeding, the effort in the food preparation, and someone equipped with his/her own transport. Someone willing to take two hours of his/her time everyday, for this very worthy cause.

A guaranteed salary will be provided.

If you know of anyone who might be keen to take on this 'challenge', a challenge that will perhaps open one's life to wider, unique experiences of animal welfare work, kindly contact: projectjkteam@yahoo.com.sg or 9026-2733. More details will be provided.

Animal Lovers League

The 2nd time jie jie visited the place, she actually walked in without fear into so many of my big peers! Fearing for her safety, ah cai was freaking out at the other side of the fence. At the same time cai cai felt so impressed!

Anyway, the most annoying thing was that she took along with her so many packets of cai's treats from Bangkok k! You see how those big things jump at her in excitement. Many a times she almost fell over cos they could reach her shoulders lor! To think that she was still so happy feeding them. *humpf!* My treats leh!

The 3rd visit, cai cai cannot be bothered about her anymore. I enjoyed with min min jie jie at the dog run instead. This time she made cai cai give up more kibbles and treats. Nairmind.... She better make up to me by buying more of my favourite ba kua and bringing me out more often to the dog run.

Wronged

It hurts when you are wronged. I bet jie jie feels that way too. Cai cai do agree in a certain extend that my nerves got over me and I over reacted in a situation. Am glad jie jie understands me and see that my 出发点 is good.

Anyway, jie jie is deciding to send cai cai to obedience school for some behavioural correction. Man.... is it that serious? I'm not sure how this school thing works. If you have been following cai's dlog, you will read that cai cai has got this thing called fear aggression or cai cai tend to get nervous easily.

Okay, this was what happened. The other day, jie jie brought cai cai over to a chalet and cai cai got along well with the kids. I really love them especially little Ray. Thus cai cai took it in my stride to watch over them, especially little Ray. Then this strange big man came over and played along while carrying Ray. Cai cai can smell unfriendly people. He knows this big man must be one of that kind, so cai cai was exceptionally suspicious and wary of him. And suddenly, this unfriendly man made a movement to hit little Ray. Cai had no time to think at all, I started to bark and growl at him fiercely while showing my perfect white teeth.

It was not cai cai's fault that my teeth looked scary or that his arm brushed against them in a wild attempt to fend me off. I is mad! How dare he try to hit baby Ray! ROAARR!!! Well, I really dun understand humans at this point. Jie jie tried to stop me from barking at this horrid guy when he is up to no good. And he started to yell that I bit him! Excuse me??? Jie jie was sure that there wasn't any teeth mark and he started accusing me of trying to attack little Ray??? Man... cai cai felt so injusticed at that point man.

While jie jie chastised me for being so reckless and overly suspicious, I can tell that she was defending for me at the same time. I is confused. Is this behaviour wrong? In jie jie's opinion, I reacted wrongly to a situation which didnt derive from being a bad boy. Aiya... I just hope school is fun for now. Am keeping my fingers crossed.

I wanna tell jie jie that cai loves her and family before my time comes!

Pet Movers & ALL

Cai finally visited Pet Movers! I saw the swimming drainage!!!! I must say I is a scardy cat.... I approach everything with my tail hung down. Am glad jie jie din decide to throw me into that pool. Would have wished that jie jie let me stay in the open field longer but she was much more busy giving away cai's kibbles to the next door neighbours.

Though Aunt Anita was a very nice lady, Cai must admit that cai got pretty annoyed that jie jie kept talking to her cos the rest were having fun still at the run. And boy did cai did voice it out vocally. With that killer look in her eyes, jie warned me that she will not take me there anymore should I behave in that not socially accepted behaviour. *whin... Cai is but a spoiled brat ma... I'm just behaving the way I'm supposed to be.

I hope the next time, jie jie will just let me go in the run while she help the neighbours if she likes. Cai is more than abled to take care of himself. But the rules in the run states that dog owners have to be there to supervise. Man... so many rules...

Nostalgic

Jie jie mentioned to cai cai before that she wonders how cai's real parents are like. Sad to say.... Cai cai cannot recall how mama looks like le. She's worried that I'm a product of a puppy mill after reading horrid articles written on petshop puppies.

I remembered the time I was alone and afraid in that petshop. I saw mei mei got adopted by a middle age couple. I wonder how she's doing now cos according to jie jie that couple seemed to be buying her on impulse and not informed about taking care of one. In fact, jie jie's initial intention was to buy mei mei but that couple was one step ahead. I did not get to kiss mei mei, but am grateful that jie jie helped me stroke and hug, whispering to mei mei to be xing fu one last time before she left for a new life. After they left, jie jie started to decide if she should get cai cai. She has long saw cai cai's antics through that petshop window. Cai cai was a playful pup (still is now) that was practically chewing up the toys that were presented to him but when taken out for viewing, he gets into a shivering fit.

To jie jie, cai cai was then a ke lian orphan with no papa mama when he was alone in the small coop up pet shop cage. These days, jie jie will craddle me in her arms and tell cai how fortunate that she has me and that I'm is no longer an orphan cos I've got her as well. She will be my mama and I will never be alone again. Ow Jie jie...

Extra to spare

Cai cai has got 2 packs of kibbles ready to donate. I just dunno how to go about. One is a premium brand Blue which jie jie has already stopped for me and another that's gonna be dued next month. Jie jie is helping cai cai think of ways to make full use of them.

One will be to go around feeding strays around our area but jie jie has yet to embark on that before so she's feeling blur and asking around how to go about. Aiyo... humans sometimes just complicate things. Want to feed just feed la. Just dun ask cai cai to go with her can le. Cai cai is bad with big gloomy peers.

Been trying to suggest to her that those packs can be given away to shelters too. Cai cai has heard of wonderful stories of private pools and dog runs that are also located near those shelters. Kill 2 birds with one stone la jie jie. Donate thoes packs then proceed to take me out to play lor.

Tagged!

Alamakz... Me been so slow to realised that me been tagged. Muahahaha. By Boo Boo, Phoebe and Bobbe

Well ya see... Life can be quite uninteresting at times, so some of my cutie friends decided to play this tag game.

The rules of the games are

The player of this game starts with "5 weird things/habits about him/herself." Then he/she tags 5 friends and list their names. The furries who get tagged need to write on their blogs about their 5 weird things/habits, as well as state this rule clearly, then tag 5 more victims. And the one who tags need to leave his/her victim a comment that says "you're tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

Hm... cai's starting to think hard what weird habits me have.
  1. I dance like a lion at times when I dun wanna eat my kibbles
  2. Smell my own fart
  3. Will always mistake things blown by the wind to be aliens and hence proceed with caution towards them
  4. Will lie down whenever it's grooming time
  5. Will pull at jie jie's jeans whenever she starts wearing them
Muahahaha... Now I'm gonna tag!! Who hasn't been tagged yet! On the list:
RonnieWoof, Huski, Elvis

So far they are the ones, will go hunting for more to tag! =P

National Dog Walk 2006

See the large turn-out. Though it was a hot day, all the aunties and uncles are bringing all my friends out to play.

See more friend friends

I met another of my kind leh!

Prep before my walk. Will sure be a long one.

My friend Magic. He's a cutie isn't it. If he's a she, I would definitely go after her.

Xiao Hei from Woof Woof. He was abandoned but see him still enjoying outings with us.

Time for a group shot. Jie Jie's holding xiao hei cos he's really hard to handle.

There, the delicious cake only for dogs! That's our privilege though I saw some of them humans sneak a bite or two.

Dinner at Happy Daze. It's chicken stew they ordered, but I dun see anything stewy to it lor. It's so dry. Nevertheless, I still enjoy it.

They are always there

I swear Jie Jie is still having dreams and I cant seem to enter them so that at least they would be happy ones.
